Operating Precautions for Low-Speed Large-Capacity Refrigerated Centrifuges

The large-capacity low-speed refrigerated centrifuge features a double-layer steel structure with a stainless-steel centrifuge chamber that resists corrosive substances. It is microcomputer-controlled, with presets for working programs, RCF, speed, centrifugation temperature, and run time, all shown synchronously on the LED display. Twenty working programs are available, and users can freely program and recall their set parameters, avoiding repeated setup and improving work efficiency.
Precautions Before Operation
- Rotor verification: confirm that the rotor model is compatible with the centrifuge and check the rotor for cracks or corrosion. Aluminum rotors must not be used for more than 5 years, and carbon-fiber rotors for more than 10 years — overdue rotors must be mandatorily scrapped.
- Sample balancing: the weight difference between symmetrically placed tubes must be ≤ 0.1 g, and tubes should be filled to at least 80%; never let liquid overflow and contaminate the chamber.
- Environment check: level the equipment with a spirit level so that the level error is less than 1 degree; keep the area within 30 cm around the machine free of clutter and ensure the ventilation openings are unobstructed.
Monitoring During Operation
- Parameter compliance: set speed, temperature, and time strictly according to sample requirements, and never exceed the maximum speed marked on the rotor.
- Status inspection: after start-up, observe the machine's running state; if abnormal noise or severe shaking occurs, press the emergency stop button immediately and investigate.
- Safety red lines: never force the lid open while the machine is running, and never move the centrifuge during operation, so as to avoid safety accidents.
Post-Run Wrap-Up
- Chamber cleaning: promptly wipe away melted condensation inside the chamber to prevent water from seeping into the motor and affecting operation.
- Rotor storage: when the machine will not be used for a long time, remove the rotor from the main shaft and keep the shaft clean; never pull the rotor off forcefully, which could bend the main shaft.
- Proper shutdown: switch off the power and unplug the power cord, and complete the equipment usage log, recording run duration and any faults.
